You don’t need a bespoke suit to look like a million bucks

I’ve never owned a bespoke suit in my life. When I see normal businessman-type guys rocking nice bespoke suits, I can certainly appreciate that they look great, but that look is not part of my world and it’s not something I aspire to. I’m not saying I would turn down a nice $3000 English-made suit, but that look is not a priority for me. The fact that I wear suits and ties almost every day…Continue Reading →

All of Hannibal’s suits from NBC’s Hannibal season 2

Here they are, all of Hannibal’s glorious suits and other outfits from season 2 of NBC’s Hannibal. It’s 86 pictures total! As with season 1, the lighting is so somber in this series that in many cases it’s hard to be sure if there’s a wardrobe change from scene to scene, so when in doubt I’ve erred on the side of caution and included everything. One dark plaid suit in dark cool lighting might be…Continue Reading →

My love affair with Kaadu shoes

I used to work at an office in SoHo (NYC, not London) and whenever I’d get bored I’d sneak out and go shopping. This is how I stumbled upon Chris Kaadu Shoes, on Sullivan Street, and it was love at first sight of that pair of red-floral-embroidered black loafers in the window (which I ran inside and bought in a panic like they might disappear). I must’ve bought about ten pairs of fabulous shoes at…Continue Reading →

Follow @GlamdiesBlog on Twitter

An important turning point for teenage me was when I noticed how rock fans dressed & how rock stars dressed & switched from one to the other — Glamdies (@GlamdiesBlog) May 24, 2014 If I had one wish, I would probably waste it on more color/pattern options for men's pants. — Glamdies (@GlamdiesBlog) May 16, 2014 It stresses me out when the inside part of my tie (which no one can possibly see) doesn't match…Continue Reading →

Me and my lady waiting to see Eddie Izzard last night at the Beacon Theatre

Blazer from Zara, shirt is probably H&M, pants are JackThreads, shoes are Stacy Adams of all freaking places. If you look in the reflection behind me you can see my new neon orange streak, courtesy of Hair Metal salon in Williamsburg and three different colors of Manic Panic. Sunglasses are Armani Exchange. Socks = ??? I have no idea where any of my girlfriend’s clothes come from, but I can tell you she got her…Continue Reading →

I’ve been obsessed with Hannibal’s style for a long time now but Mason Verger is bringing some fierce competition

Gary Oldman is probably my favorite actor of all time and I don’t think I could have ever imagined I’d prefer someone else’s interpretation of a character over his, but Michael Pitt as Mason Verger is killing it. The clothes definitely help. When I think cool, two things that do not come to mind are fur and white/off-white, but somehow it’s really working here. And a baby pig as an accessory is an ingenious touch…Continue Reading →

My love/hate relationship with JackThreads

I have a love/hate relationship with JackThreads. I’ve probably bought at least three dozen items from them in the last couple years, from three-piece suits and ties to t-shirts and sunglasses. Some of it’s great, and some of it’s garbage. JackThreads’ prices are super cheap for the most part, and the quality of their items is very hit and miss. I’ve gotten a few suits from them in the $100-$150 range, which is incredibly cheap,…Continue Reading →

Somehow I let myself get photographed in a t-shirt & with no product in my hair

My photographer friend Kevin O’Mara was staying with me in Brooklyn and we got up early on a Saturday morning and I threw on a t-shirt and didn’t do my hair and we went out for coffee. Somehow he managed to sneak this pic and make me look cool anyway; there was a nice breeze doing nice things with my product-less hair. I usually don’t let myself get seen in public wearing a t-shirt, let…Continue Reading →
