Finally, a resolution to my H&M customer service problem

Finally a resolution to the lost gift card debacle! Not a good one, but at least I can forget about this mess now. For a quick recap, here’s my original blog post from yesterday about it. After months and months of phone calls with no results, I went all social media on H&M and they responded within minutes! I wrote my blog post about my experience, then tweeted about it and posted it on H&M’s…Continue Reading →

UPDATED: My terrible H&M customer service experience; $200 gone, three months later, still no resolution

UPDATE: One blog post/tweet/Facebook post later, I got a call from a very helpful lady at H&M. Fingers crossed that this will be resolved soon. I’ll post any news. ***** I’ve been dealing with H&M customer service over a lost $200.00 gift card since June! I’ve called four times so far, with no results. Many months ago, I bought an H&M gift card for $200.00 to give as a gift. The recipient lost it. Luckily,…Continue Reading →

Drunken office party selfie last night

I have only the vaguest recollection of taking this picture, but I do remember being happy about my outfit and how well my hair held up despite yesterday being the humid-est, grossest day ever. That’s right, nasty summer humidity doesn’t stop me from wearing a suit and tie. Suit is from H&M last year, shirt is probably Zara, tie is from Daffy’s. The skull ring I grabbed on Amazon a while back on a whim…Continue Reading →

Is three skull ties enough? (Of course not.)

Here are the three ties with skull patterns that I currently have in my collection. The one on the left is from H&M many, many years ago, and the one on the right is from H&M just recently. The one in the center is my favorite, and I have no idea where it came from; I’m 99% sure my girlfriend bought it for me as a gift, and I’m 99% sure she got it in…Continue Reading →

I have a tie problem…

… and my problem is that I don’t have enough ties. My necktie collection hovers around the 50-60 mark at any given time. The vast majority of these are from all my usual haunts: Daffy’s (R.I.P.!) was my absolute best tie-shopping place for years, and at least a dozen of these are from there. The others are from JackThreads, H&M, Delaveine in Paris, celio* in Paris, and of course several of them were gifts. I…Continue Reading →

You don’t need a bespoke suit to look like a million bucks

I’ve never owned a bespoke suit in my life. When I see normal businessman-type guys rocking nice bespoke suits, I can certainly appreciate that they look great, but that look is not part of my world and it’s not something I aspire to. I’m not saying I would turn down a nice $3000 English-made suit, but that look is not a priority for me. The fact that I wear suits and ties almost every day…Continue Reading →

Me and my lady waiting to see Eddie Izzard last night at the Beacon Theatre

Blazer from Zara, shirt is probably H&M, pants are JackThreads, shoes are Stacy Adams of all freaking places. If you look in the reflection behind me you can see my new neon orange streak, courtesy of Hair Metal salon in Williamsburg and three different colors of Manic Panic. Sunglasses are Armani Exchange. Socks = ??? I have no idea where any of my girlfriend’s clothes come from, but I can tell you she got her…Continue Reading →

Somehow I let myself get photographed in a t-shirt & with no product in my hair

My photographer friend Kevin O’Mara was staying with me in Brooklyn and we got up early on a Saturday morning and I threw on a t-shirt and didn’t do my hair and we went out for coffee. Somehow he managed to sneak this pic and make me look cool anyway; there was a nice breeze doing nice things with my product-less hair. I usually don’t let myself get seen in public wearing a t-shirt, let…Continue Reading →

Diesel XXX party, Paris, 2008

My girlfriend worked for Diesel for a few years in Paris and I got to attend their “XXX” party in 2008; I decided to glam it up good and proper. How I miss those shoes!!! It’s funny, I actually don’t own a single thing from Diesel; you know how I feel about jeans. Oh wait, I lied, I do have a pair of Diesel sunglasses that were a gift and I really like them and…Continue Reading →

The time I was in Time Out New York’s Most Stylish New Yorkers (April 2011)

Hooboy, this is an interesting one; I’m simultaneously very proud and a little bit embarrassed to have been selected one of Time Out New York’s Most Stylish New Yorkers back in 2011. The photoshoot happened some months before the issue came out, and I’d just recently moved to NYC from Paris and was still figuring out shopping/dressing myself here. By the time the magazine hit the stands I didn’t love most of the things I’d…Continue Reading →
